AES/EEI Filing (US Exports)

Automated Export System (AES) filing is required for certain US exports. OnFlyGo helps identify when this is needed.

When AES/EEI is Required:

  • Single item valued over $2,500
  • Total shipment to same consignee over $2,500 in 24 hours
  • Items requiring export license (regardless of value)
  • Items on Commerce Control List (CCL)
  • Shipments to certain countries (sanctions)

Exemptions (When NOT Required):

  • Personal effects valued under $2,500
  • Shipments to Canada (most items)
  • Temporary exports returning within 1 year
  • Diplomatic pouches

Information Needed:

  • USPPI (US Principal Party in Interest) - the exporter
  • EIN or SSN of exporter
  • Ultimate consignee details
  • Commodity classification (Schedule B/HS code)
  • Value and quantity
  • License information (if applicable)

The ITN (Internal Transaction Number):

  • Proof of AES filing
  • Format: X20231215123456
  • Must be on shipping documents
  • Required before export for most shipments
