Proper packaging prevents short circuits and fires. These rules apply to ALL spare batteries.
Terminal Protection (MANDATORY):
- Cover terminals with tape (electrical or masking)
- Keep in original retail packaging
- Use individual plastic bags or cases
- Use battery cases with separate compartments
Short Circuit Prevention:
- Never carry loose batteries in pockets/bags
- Keep batteries away from metal objects (keys, coins)
- Don't stack batteries touching each other
- Use battery organizer cases
For OBC Shipments:
- Devices should be OFF (not sleep mode)
- Tape over power buttons if possible
- Include battery specs in documentation
- Photograph batteries/devices for records
- Consider removing batteries from devices if possible
OnFlyGo Packaging Guidelines:
- Document all batteries in shipment
- Calculate total Wh for all devices
- Use protective cases for spares
- Photograph packaging before sealing
- Include battery inventory list
What NOT to Do:
- Don't wrap batteries in aluminum foil
- Don't pack batteries with flammable materials
- Don't crush or puncture batteries
- Don't expose to extreme temperatures
