Battery Packaging Requirements

Proper packaging prevents short circuits and fires. These rules apply to ALL spare batteries.

Terminal Protection (MANDATORY):

  • Cover terminals with tape (electrical or masking)
  • Keep in original retail packaging
  • Use individual plastic bags or cases
  • Use battery cases with separate compartments

Short Circuit Prevention:

  • Never carry loose batteries in pockets/bags
  • Keep batteries away from metal objects (keys, coins)
  • Don't stack batteries touching each other
  • Use battery organizer cases

For OBC Shipments:

  • Devices should be OFF (not sleep mode)
  • Tape over power buttons if possible
  • Include battery specs in documentation
  • Photograph batteries/devices for records
  • Consider removing batteries from devices if possible

OnFlyGo Packaging Guidelines:

  1. Document all batteries in shipment
  2. Calculate total Wh for all devices
  3. Use protective cases for spares
  4. Photograph packaging before sealing
  5. Include battery inventory list

What NOT to Do:

  • Don't wrap batteries in aluminum foil
  • Don't pack batteries with flammable materials
  • Don't crush or puncture batteries
  • Don't expose to extreme temperatures
