Restricted Items (Conditions Apply)

These items CAN be transported but have specific restrictions and may require special documentation or handling.

Lithium Batteries (See Battery Section for Details):

  • Personal devices: Allowed in carry-on
  • Spare batteries: Carry-on only, terminals protected
  • Large batteries (>100Wh): Airline approval required
  • Damaged/recalled batteries: Prohibited

Liquids:

  • Carry-on: Max 100ml per container, must fit in 1L clear bag
  • Checked: Larger quantities allowed, properly sealed
  • Flammable liquids: Prohibited or restricted

Medical Items:

  • Prescription medications: Allowed with documentation
  • Syringes/needles: Medical letter required
  • Medical samples: Special packaging, dry ice rules apply
  • Controlled substances: Import permits required

Valuable Items:

  • Cash over $10,000: Must declare at customs
  • Jewelry/gold: Declare, may require import permits
  • Art/antiques: Export permits may be required

Industrial Items:

  • Automotive parts with fluids: Drain completely
  • Machinery with batteries: Remove or disable
  • Calibration equipment: Verify not export-controlled
  • Magnets: Must be shielded (under 0.00525 gauss at 4.6m)

Food Items:

  • Fresh meat/dairy: Usually prohibited across borders
  • Packaged food: Check destination country restrictions
  • Seeds/plants: Phytosanitary certificates required
